President instructed National Bank to develop proposals for reforming pension system
Astana. September 18. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev received Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Grigory Marchenko on Monday.
During the meeting, Marchenko reported to the President on the situation in the financial sector of the country, particularly in the banking sector and in the currency markets, the Presidential press service informed.
"The situation on the currency market and the banking sector remains stable. The National Fund and the gold assets continue growing - now their aggregate amount is $85 billion. Inflation rate in the country remains quite low and amounts to 4.7%," Marchenko said.
Following the meeting, the President gave instructions on the development of proposals for further reform of the pension system and the use of financial institutions in the financing of projects in the framework of public-private partnership.

Oil spill detected in Caspian Sea
According to space monitoring data, received from Sentinel-1A (02:43 UTC), an oil spill was detected on March 30 in the area of Kashagan field in the Caspian Sea. The spill area is about 7 square kilometers. The spill was drifting to the north of the Caspian Sea," the publication reads.
If these facts are confirmed by Atyrau region’s Ecology Department, unscheduled inspection will be conducted at the North Caspian Operating Company. The results will be reported additionally," the Ecology Committee says.
