Prohibition of Caravan publication lifted

Almaty. June 7. Kazakhstan Today - The court lifted prohibition of publication of the newspaper Caravan provided that the agency will not cover the events and comments connected with the course of investigation of the criminal case of Nurbank company, the agency reports referring to the decision of the specialized inter district economic court of Almaty.

"The court decided to replace the verdict to another by canceling of banning on publication of the newspaper Caravan and to veto the Publishing House Alma-media to cover in the newspaper Caravan the events and their comments connected with the course of investigation of the criminal case concerning Nurbank company and the persons engaged in the case irrespective of their legal status," the court's decision states.

The legal adviser informed that "the Office of Public Prosecutor in the suit on suspension of the newspaper Caravan work refers to infringement of clause 205 of the Criminal Judicial Code of Kazakhstan - disclosure of data of preliminary investigation and the secret protected by the law.

As it was informed earlier, on May 24, the Public Prosecutor of Bostandyk region brought the suit to the economic court of Almaty for suspension of the newspaper Caravan publication for the period of 3 months. The same day the court complied with the Public Prosecutor's suit of the measures on maintenance charges and forbade publication of the newspaper Caravan.
