According to the source, the rocket carrier Proton-M was launched on Saturday at 3.48 Astana time from a launcher №39 of the starting complex of the platform №200 and took place in a regular mode.

The first and second stages of the carrier rocket separated precisely on time of the flight cyclogram.

According to the source, the rocket carrier Proton-M with the space craft Nimiq-4 was launched within the limits of the contract concluded between International Launch Services (ILS) and the Canadian operator of satellite communication Telesat Canada and became the 47th commercial launch within the limits of ILS activity and the 337th launch of the carrier rocket Proton.

The space craft Nimiq-4 belongs to Telesat Canada - the national Canadian company of the satellite communication providing data transmission and rendering broadcast service in Northern America. 32 powerful transponders of Qu-range and 8 transponders of Qu-range have been established on the satellite. Multi-purpose antenna of Qu-range will provide broadcasting in the most populated regions of Canada. According to the configuration of the platform, the satellite is equipped with chemical impellent installation and ionic-lithium accumulators. The space satellites Anik F1R and Anik F3 were created earlier on the same platform belonging to Telesat company.

Satellite Nimiq-4 service life in the geostationary orbit is 15 years.
