Astana held a meeting of the QazaqGeography republican public association under the chairmanship of First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan - Chairman of QazaqGeography Askar Mamin on November 17, press service of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reports.
The event started with a tour around a new office of QazaqGeography. The building built in 1968 was reconstructed in a short period and turned into a modern office locating a museum, electronic library, and media center.
Members of the Trust and Management Boards of QazaqGeography took part in the meeting, as well as representatives of all regions of Kazakhstan.
QazaqGeography representative Askar Mamin noted the importance of the Organization that brought together scholars, cultural figures, professionals from various sectors and the country's young persons - everyone concerns about the preservation of the historic and cultural heritage of Kazakhstan. QazaqGeography can and should play a key role in promoting tourist facilities for Kazakhs, and the world community.
According to him, QazaqGeography should be crucial in promoting science, culture, and history of Kazakhstan and contribute to the preservation of the country's cultural code, outlined by President Nursultan Nazarbayev in his article 'Look towards the Future: Modernization of Public Conscience.'
The efforts for the reporting period was delivered by Chairman of the Board of QazaqGeography Zhana Rustem. According to her, the Association has implemented over 60 projects, carried out 10 expeditions, published 13 books over the last five years. Since 2015, the Khan Koryk annual youth festival that took the international status has been held. The festival welcomes not only Kazakhstan's young persons but also students from the near and far abroad.
According to Zhana Rustem, QazaqGeography with the Kazakh Tourism national company has taken part in the Uly Dala Eline Sayakhat project. The Association conducted expeditions to Ulytau, Kashgar following the traces of Shoqan Walikhanov, to the Turgai Geoglyph and the Aral Sea. The Kieli Kazakhstan (Sacred Kazakhstan) annual expeditions are carried out throughout the country, with GPS-coordinates being installed on all routes of expeditions.
Following the expeditions, new tourist routes have been designed on the routes Sary-Arka and the New Silk Road, illustrative guidebooks have been prepared, a qualitative photo- and video bank on natural and historic and cultural facilities have been created, and information on their condition has been updated.
Summarizing the work of the meeting, QazaqGeography Chairman Askar Mamin awarded the winners of the Moi Kazakhstan photo contest in four thematic categories: Nature, People, Cities, and Astana.
Active members of the Association were also mentioned for their contribution to the formation and development of the organization on the 5th anniversary of QazaqGeography.
