Restriction policy makes domestic television and radio industry uncompetitive - Nazarbayeva

Almaty. April 4. Kazakhstan Today - Dariga Nazarbayeva considers that the policy of restrictions makes domestic television and radio industry uncompetitive. She expressed such opinion during online conference held today on Gravity Centre site.

During the online conference D. Nazarbayeva stated that the future is for public TV and private mass media. She noted the necessity of cancellation of 20 % of restrictions of participation of the foreign capital in mass media in favor of attraction of foreign investments into the media market of Kazakhstan.

"The notorious epithet about protection of state security, to put it mildly, is ridiculous in the epoch of progress of satellite digital TV and radio, the Internet, globalization of information space. The policy of endless restrictions undermines national safety to the greatest degree, making domestic television and radio industry uncompetitive," she explained.

The questions of the online conference participants concerned professional and public work of D. Nazarbayeva. She shared with the interlocutors her opinion concerning political life of the country and the events in the world.
