Launch took place in a regular mode from a mine launcher of the platform №109 in due time at 13.15 Astana time. The space vehicles were launched into a basic orbit and in the near future will be transferred to the customer.

The space vehicles of RapidEye system, each weighting 150 kg, were made by the British company Surrey Satellite Technology LTD (SSTL) by the order of Canadian company MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates (MDA).

The space satellite RapidEye intended for remote sounding and monitoring of the ground from the orbit at the height of about 620 kilometers for the needs of agriculture in the Northern America and Europe. Life service of the satellites - 7 years.
