Rocket Proton-M, American satellite АМС-14 launched from Baikonur

Baikonur. March 17. Kazakhstan Today - Rocket Proton-M with American satellite АМС-14 were launched from Baikonur on Friday, the agency reports referring to the source at the cosmodrome.

The booster rocket Proton-M was launched on Friday at 5.18 55 seconds, Astana time from the launcher №39 of the starting complex of the platform №200 and took place in a regular mode.

The first and the second steps of Proton-M were separated precisely on time of the flight cyclogram. The space vehicle was launched by the booster rocket into the basic orbit.

Separation of the booster block Breeze-M and the satellite from the third step of the rocket carrier took place in a regular mode at 5.28 41 second.

The launch of the space vehicle АМС-14, as a result of which the orbital block will be transferred from the basic to the target orbit, where the satellite will separate in the point of standing of 105.5 degrees of the western longitude at the height of nearly 36 thousand kilometers, was scheduled for Friday at 12.56 Astana time.

Telecommunication satellite АМС-14 was made by company Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems. The satellite weighting 4209 kg is equipped with 32 transponders and will provide the North American customers with communication services. The satellite is intended to work for 15 years.
