Rocket Proton-M with satellite Express-АМ33 launched from Baikonur
Baikonur. January 28. Kazakhstan Today - The first rocket in 2008 Proton - M with the satellite Express-АМ33 was launched from Baikonur today, the agency reports.
The launch of the booster rocket has been realized at 6.19 of Astana time from launcher №89 of the starting complexe of platform №200 and took place in a regular mode.
The first and the second stages of the booster rocket were separated precisely on time of flight timing diagram. The space vehicle has been taken out by the booster rocket Proton-M into the basic orbit.
"Express-АМ33 will replace in the orbit geostationary satellite Express-АМ11, which had an accident in March, 2006 as a result of collision with space dust."
The duration of active work of the satellite is 12 years.

Oil spill detected in Caspian Sea
According to space monitoring data, received from Sentinel-1A (02:43 UTC), an oil spill was detected on March 30 in the area of Kashagan field in the Caspian Sea. The spill area is about 7 square kilometers. The spill was drifting to the north of the Caspian Sea," the publication reads.
If these facts are confirmed by Atyrau region’s Ecology Department, unscheduled inspection will be conducted at the North Caspian Operating Company. The results will be reported additionally," the Ecology Committee says.
