Shooting of 'The Nomads' reality TV show to start in Akmola region
The TV show will be broadcasted in 118 countries.
The TV project ordered by the channel of Kazakh TV of "Khabar" Agency JSC - The Nomads will be launched this June. The shooting will take place 340 kilometers from Astana near the Balkashino village of the Sandyktau area, Akmola region.
The reality TV show will be broadcasted in 118 countries of the world. Its participants will be merited masters of sports and Olympic champions all over the world.
The idea of the project of The Nomads is two teams of sportsmen and Olympic champions from different countries will contend for the main prize. Participants should overcome complex stages that will require both physical training (competitions in extreme conditions), and intellectual skills, knowledge of Kazakh traditions, folklore, way of life and language.
The idea was born in 2014, and cherished it for a long period. That moment, unfortunately, the youth did not have any motivation to study the history and culture of its people. The youth tried to go somewhere else to learn the cultures of other countries. In addition, there were no interested specialists and funding capabilities. But the channel of Kazakh TV "Khabar" Agency JSC interested in the project last year. We signed a contract with them, and preparations began," said Elena Gomer, author of the idea of the project and producer. She worked on Aldar Kose in the 21st century, and a folk comedy We are from Sandyktau.
According to the organizers, search for a director took up a long time. It was necessary to find a specialist in reality TV shows. Finally, we found Kirill Kuzin, a director, famous for such reality TV shows as Perekhvat (Capture), Kriminalnaya Russia (Criminal Russia), Force Majeure, Bulldog Show, Nerealnye istoriyi (Unreal Stories), Comedy Woman and others. Kazakhstan’s boxer, Olympic champion Bakhtiyar Artayev and well-known TV host of Kazakhstan Arman Momynov will host the TV project.
Among the participants of the first season, merited master of sports of the Russian Federation in boxing, two-time Olympic champion Oleg Saitov, champion of the 2004 Summer Olympics, 2004 European Champion Gaidarbek Gaidarbekov, Mongolian athlete, Sumo Emperor’s Cup winner Asashoryu Akinori, two-time Olympic champion in boxing, three-time world champion from China Zou Shiming, the participation of girls from Latvia and Bulgaria is also expected.
The game itself will be in an extremely competitive form, two teams will compete overcoming various tasks and answering questions. The questions and tasks will not only test the intellectual training and physical preparation of participants, but also the knowledge of folklore, way of life, language of the Kazakh people, historical facts. The TV show will reveal unknown interesting pages of the history of Kazakhstan and the Sandyktau area," Elena Gomer said.
As the organizers told, the show will be released in seasons. The shooting equipment and the pavilion can be used in other projects - clips, programs, films – between shootings.
The shooting is planned for early June. The TV show will be broadcasted in English, foreign players will speak English. As was reported, it will be broadcasted in 118 countries of the world. And that is more than 300 million viewers! Therefore, we would like to propose large developing companies, sanatoriums to place their advertisements. Of course, despite the support of the channel of Kazakh TV "Khabar" Agency JSC, Governor’s Offices of Akmola region and the Sandyktau area, we would be pleased to find a general sponsor. This is a long-term project, and we plan to invite many famous media people. All this will be covered and broadcast. In general, The Nomads TV show should become another bright project to attract tourists to our beautiful Sandyktau land!" Elena Gomer said.

This photo exhibition will be open to residents and visitors of the city until April 30, 2024.
Plovdiv is the second largest city in Bulgaria, which is more than 8000 years old, leading its chronicle from prehistoric times to the present day, and is the most dynamically developing center of Southern Bulgaria.
The Honorary Consulate of Kazakhstan in Plovdiv has been open since December 15, 2023.

Over 300 babies born in flood-stricken areas in Kazakhstan
325 babies were born in the regions of Kazakhstan that declared recently a local state of emergency due to flooding. 387 pregnant women are under the doctor’s care, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Most babies were born in Kostanay, Aktobe and West Kazakhstan regions since the beginning of the floods, Aigerim Urazaliyeva, the Kazakh Healthcare Ministry’s official spokesperson, said.
5,035 children from flood-hit regions are staying at temporary shelters of which 62 were taken to hospitals.
She noted over 1,000 people sought psychological assistance.
7,617 flood victims have chronic diseases. All of them are monitored by health workers, she added.

347 pupils of two schools switched to online learning amid flooding in North Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Schools were temporarily shifted to online teaching in Zarechnyi and Pokrovka villages as the River Yessil overflowed.
All villagers of Zarechnyi were evacuated amid flood risks. Ice jams triggered flooding in Pokrovka village leaving tens of homes on Beregovaya Street underwater.

An outstanding statesman, the first Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan (1996-1999), Baigeldi Omirbek has passed away today in Astana, Kazinform News Agency cites the Kazakh Senate’s press service.
Baigeldi Omirbek was born in 1939 in Dzhambul region, KazSSR.
Baigeldi Omirbek served as the deputy of the Parliament of Kazakhstan of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th convocations. He worked at the Senate for more than 16 years.

Year of Kazakhstan Tourism in China officially opens in Beijing

The Year of Kazakhstan Tourism in China has been opened in a grand ceremony at the China National Opera House in Beijing, Kazinform News Agency reports.
As part of the ceremony, an ethno-auyl (village) and the cultural events are being presented before the China National Opera House building.
Addressing the guests and participants of the event were Deputy Prime Minister - Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu, head of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party Li Shulei, Kazakh Sport and Tourism Minister Yermek Marzhikpayev and Chinese Culture and Tourism Minister Sun Yeli.
Opening the festive gala concert was the theatrical choreographic performance ‘Yer saltanaty’ by the soloists of the Abay Opera House, artists of the Astana Ballet Theatre and the ‘Shattyq’ Dance Theatre.
People's artist of Kazakhstan Roza Rymbaeva, honored artist of Kazakhstan Mayra Mukhamedkyzy, opera singer Zarina Altynbaeva, ethno-rock group ‘Ulytau’, choir group of Abai Kazakh State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, ensembles ‘Serper’ and ‘Sazgen Sazy’ and the ballet troupe ‘Astana Ballet’ will take part in the concert dedicated to the opening of the Year of Kazakhstan Tourism in China.
