Shymkent court finished interrogation of victims on mass HIV infection case

Shymkent. May 3. Kazakhstan Today - Shymkent court has finished the interrogation of victims on the case of mass HIV infection of children, the agency reports.

At today's judicial session the judge Ziyadinhan Pirniyaz presiding over the process said that the interrogation of victims could be considered finished. "Three more victims have not been interrogated," he explained.

As it was informed earlier, the judicial session on the case of mass HIV infection of children has been taking place since January 19 in Shymkent. The charges were brought against 21 people. Two of them - the bookkeeper and the courier have been arrested; the others gave the written undertaking not to leave the place. All defendants, victims and partially witnesses have been interrogated.

As of today there are 108 HIV positive children (eight died, one has been adopted and left abroad) and 13 HIV positive mothers in the South Kazakhstan.
