Soyuz-U with cargo transport ship Progress М-65 launched from Baikonur

The carrier rocket Soyuz-U with the cargo transport ship Progress М-65 was launched from Baikonur today, the agency reports referring to a source at the cosmodrome.
Baikonur. September 11. Kazakhstan Today - The carrier rocket Soyuz-U with the cargo transport ship Progress М-65 was launched from Baikonur today, the agency reports referring to a source at the cosmodrome.
 
The carrier rocket Soyuz-U was launched on September 11 at 01.50 Astana time from a launcher №5 of the starting complex of the platform №1 and passed in a regular mode. 
 
According to flight cyclogram the cargo transport space ship Progress М-65 separated from the third stage of the carrier rocket and was put to the orbit with the set parameters. Docking of Progress М-65 with the International Space Station (ISS) is planned for September 13 at 01.01 Moscow time.
 
It has been the third of five launches of cargo transport space ships Progress to ISS planned in 2008
 
The cargo transport space ship Progress М-65 will deliver 2541 kg to the International Space Station: fuel for maintenance of the orbit of the station, foodstuffs, water, and scientific equipment. The members of the crew ISS-17 Sergey Volkov, Oleg Kononenko and Greg Errol Shemetoff will receive compact discs with films and music, parcels from their relatives, and fresh fruit.
 
The cargo transport space ship Progress М-65 will deliver to ISS space suit Orlan-MK of the fifth generation made by the Research, Development & Production Enterprise Zvezda. The space suit Orlan-MK weighting 120 kg is intended for 15 spacewalks.
 
2 more new space suits Orlan-MK will be delivered on the next flight of spacecrafts to ISS that will replace 3 space suits of the previous generation Orlan-M.
 
The crew of the 18th basic expedition will test the new space suit for the first time that will be launched to ISS on October 12. Cosmonaut Jury Lonchakov (Russia) and astronaut Edward Michael Fincke (USA) have undergone special preparation in the new space suits and will use Orlan-MK in their spacewalks.
