Supreme court annulled its decision to grant right to land use to Krishna community

Astana. May 10. Kazakhstan Today - The Supreme Court annulled its decision to grant the right to land use to the Society for Krishna Consciousness in Almaty region, the religious community informed the agency.

"On May 8, 2007 the Supreme Court accepted the resolution, according to which the land of the Krishna community in Almaty region can be withdrawn in favor of the state," the press release of the Society for Krishna Consciousness states.

As it was informed earlier, according to the decision of the Supreme Court dated June 30, 2005, the Krishna society received 47.7 hectares of the land in Karasay district of Almaty region after the official registration of papers in registering bodies of Karasay region.

However, "the bodies have not registered the land of the Society for Krishna Consciousness because of the arrest on the land imposed by the Karasay regional court by the request of the local akim.

Thus, the board of the Supreme Court on civil cases accepted the decision to cancel the resolution dated June 30, 2005. The decision came into force from the moment of its announcement. "It means that at any moment the land of the main center of the Society for Krishna Consciousness can be withdrawn," the society said.

Loss of the legal address will mean liquidation of the Society for Krishna Consciousness in Almaty region," the community representatives said.
