UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to visit Kazakhstan

Astana. April 30. Kazakhstan Today - The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Louise Arbour plans to pay official visit to the Republic Kazakhstan on April 30 during his tour to the countries of Central Asia. The Kazakh MFA official representative Yerzhan Ashikbayev said at the briefing on Saturday, the agency reports.

"The purpose of the visit to Kazakhstan is to carry out the meetings with the leadership of the state to exchange opinions on the situation regarding human rights in the country and the region and to discuss the prospects of cooperation between the Republic Kazakhstan and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights," the MFA representative noted.
