Vice chairman of President's Administration notes poor quality of socially-humanitarian scientific researches
Astana. September 30. Kazakhstan Today - Vice chairman of the President's Administration of Kazakhstan, Maulen Ashimbayev, at the meeting with the heads of scientific research institutes in Astana has noted poor quality of socially-humanitarian scientific researches in the country, the agency reports.
"Quality of scientific researches has been poor. Originality of scientific results of the researches often raises doubts though the quantity of candidates and doctors of sciences grows.
"Quality of dissertations often does not stand up to criticism," M. Ashimbayev considers.
M. Ashimbayev has criticized forums and conferences held in the country, which frequently do not give "any significant scientific results."

Oil spill detected in Caspian Sea
According to space monitoring data, received from Sentinel-1A (02:43 UTC), an oil spill was detected on March 30 in the area of Kashagan field in the Caspian Sea. The spill area is about 7 square kilometers. The spill was drifting to the north of the Caspian Sea," the publication reads.
If these facts are confirmed by Atyrau region’s Ecology Department, unscheduled inspection will be conducted at the North Caspian Operating Company. The results will be reported additionally," the Ecology Committee says.
