VIII World Congress of Russian Press finished its work

Astana. June 27. Kazakhstan Today – Today VIII World Congress of Russian Press finished its work in Astana, the agency reports.

"Russian-speaking press published in the independent states helps all political reforms occuring in these countries. We urge our press - to be the most ardent assistant in promoting political processes," the president of the World association of Russian press Vitaly Ignatenko noted.

"Russian is the universal code synthesizing and storing values of Eurasia. It is possible to consider our congress the Congress of plenipotentiaries of Eurasia," vice president of the World Association of Russian press Dariga Nazarbayeva said addressing forum participants.

As reported before, 180 delegates from 45 countries of the world, including the heads of the leading national and regional mass media of Kazakhstan and Russia: editors-in-chief of newspapers Kommersant, Moscow Komsomolets, Arguments and Facts, News, Komsomol Pravda, Literary Newspaper, Moscow News, Labor, magazines Ogonek, New Time, the heads of news agencies took part in the forum.

Forum participants discussed problems and prospects of modern Eurasia on the example of information aspects of Eurasian integration, consider mutual relations of Russia and Kazakhstan in Russian-speaking information spectrum as the important factor of strategic partnership in world globalization.

World Congress of Russian press is being held in Kazakhstan for the first time. Forum president Vitaliy Ignatenko and WARP vice president Dariga Nazarbayeva initiated the Congress.

World association of Russian press is the open independent international nongovernmental organization uniting the majority of foreign Russian-speaking mass media, publishing houses, news agencies from 80 countries of the world. WARP was created by the initiative of the participants of I World congress of Russian press held in Moscow and Sochi in 1999.

The main objectives WARP sees in development of uniform world Russian-speaking space, expansion of scientific, educational, cultural and information relations between native speakers of Russian, free and unbiased interpretation of the events taking place in Russia, strengthening mutual relations, and exchange of creative and professional experience of Russian-speaking mass media worldwide.
