Virus A (H1N1) can infect more than third of population of the world
Almaty. July 30. Kazakhstan Today - The virus of the influenza A (H1N1) within a year can infect more than third of population of the world. Assistant General Director of the World Health Organization (WHO), Keidzi Fukuda, stated today in Geneva, the agency reports citing ITAR-TASS.
"As the previous pandemics demonstrates, about the third of population or even more can be infected with the disease," he said in the interview to the Japanese agency Kiodo, having added that it is impossible to give more exact estimation.
"Finally, the number of the infected in different countries, most likely, will be different, however I do not think it matters how many people will be infected - 20 %, 30 % or 40 %. In any case, it is a very big figure. We have to expect increase of the number of the infected people," WHO representative said.
14 cases of the infection of the influenza A (H1N1) virus have been registered in Kazakhstan.

Oil spill detected in Caspian Sea
According to space monitoring data, received from Sentinel-1A (02:43 UTC), an oil spill was detected on March 30 in the area of Kashagan field in the Caspian Sea. The spill area is about 7 square kilometers. The spill was drifting to the north of the Caspian Sea," the publication reads.
If these facts are confirmed by Atyrau region’s Ecology Department, unscheduled inspection will be conducted at the North Caspian Operating Company. The results will be reported additionally," the Ecology Committee says.
