World customs organization to develop corruption eradication system

Almaty. January 17. Kazakhstan Today - The countries entering the World customs organization plan to develop the common system for corruption eradication. The participants of three-day subregional conference in Almaty of the World customs organization Strategic methods of improvement of anticorruption work in customs bodies started their work today, the agency reports.

"For customs service of the Republic Kazakhstan the problem of decrease of the level of corruption, simplification of customs procedures, introduction of modern information technologies has priority value for Kazakhstan," the Chairman of the Committee of the customs control of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan Askar Shakirov stated, the agency reports.

The Secretary General of the World customs organization Michel Dane noted that "there are certain problems and there is an intention to make use of experience of colleagues ". " On results of conference acceptance of the document comprising the basic, priority directions of activity of the countries of region in struggle against corruption is supposed ", - A.Shakirov has noted.

"Following the results of the conference the document comprising the basic, priority directions of activity of the countries of the region in struggle against corruption is expected to be adopted," A. Shakirov noted.

The Chairmen of the customs administrations of ten countries of the Eurasian continent and Japan are taking part in the conference work. As it was informed earlier, the decision on carrying out of the forum was accepted at the 56th session of the political commission of the World customs organization in India. Kazakhstan was a part of the political committee in 2005 and represents in this international organization the interests of the customs services of the CIS states and the Baltics.

The World customs organization includes 170 countries. It is the second largest international organization after the United Nations.
