GGG talks on his plans, career and development of boxing in Kazakhstan

Gennady Golovkin arrived in Almaty and took part in a press conference during which he answered questions that matter journalists.

Former world champion in middleweight Gennady Golovkin has talked whether he plans to end the career and how he supports Kazakhstan's athletes abroad and whether he has picked his next opponent.

Gennady Golovkin is a founder of his own promotion company that trains professional boxers. According to the boxer, there is no professional boxing in Kazakhstan, as well as such possibilities as the US has.

The guys whom we have chosen are trained next to me. I try to fully share my experience, to control these guys and assist them. It must be rude, but Kazakhstan doesn't have professional boxing. If they wish to reach a high level, to become professional, they should be in the place where real champions are trained, to spar with champions. It is an invaluable experience. There are no conditions to reach the results at a professional level," he said.

He noted that only best, hard-working, strong athletes join his team, as boxing is a very hazardous sport. The boxer's trainer Abel Sanchez will also train future professionals.

Sanches will assist the guys whom we will bring. One should admit his experience and skill. We will work jointly," said Golovkin.

The boxer also told that he had visited his home city, he got familiarized with the work of clubs of the physical and recreational complex in Karaganda and talked with students of sports clubs.

Such centers are the opportunity for guys to train. They believe, hope that they can reach the same results. Their eyes lit up, especially when I turn up as a surprise, visit them. They have a good example to follow. Thus, I urge businessmen to support them," he said.

Also, Gennady told whether he has chosen his next opponent and whether he plans to end his career.

About the next opponent. Their number is so big. We will choose one. I am not in the state to talk about the next opponent, where, when. I will talk about it later. I would like to say the guys (athletes), that we will assist, support them, which is most important," he said.

Boxing is a hazardous type of sport, a blow can change one's life. I cannot jump ahead and say that I will do boxing till 50. We keep a prudent, and right look at everything. If there is the capability, wish - we will do boxing," he said.

At the end of the meeting, Gennady thanked Kazakhstani citizens for support: 'I would like to thank for your support, that you wake up on Sundays, and gather. It is very important for me, but also for entire Kazakhstan.'
