Almaty. June 23. Kazakhstan Today – The official candidates to host the 2014 Olympic Winter Games have been named in Lausanne city, Switzerland, the agency reports referring to RIA Novosti.
Among them are Russia's Black Sea resort of Sochi, Austria's Salzberg and South Korea's Pyeong Chang.
According to the decision of the International Olympic Committee, Almaty, Kazakhstan; Borjomi, Georgia; Jaca, Spain; and Sofia, Bulgaria failed to win the right to host the Games.
The winning city in the remaining trio for the 2014 event will be unveiled in July 2007 in Guatemala City.
