Kazakhstan judoist Zhitkeev won silver medal in Beijing Olympics

Kazakhstan judoist, Ashat Zhitkeev, won a silver medal in Beijing Olympics, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan.

Astana. August 15. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan judoist, Ashat Zhitkeev, won a silver medal in Beijing Olympics, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan.

"Ashat Zhitkeev representing Kazakhstan team for the first time in the history of Kazakhstan judo won a silver medal of Olympic Games in Beijing," the message informs.

Ashat won the Kuwaiti judoist in the first fight in a weight class of up to 100 kg in Olympic Games. In the second fight Zhitkeev won the Bosnian athlete ahead of schedule. He won the Hungarian judoist in the third fight. In semifinal Zhitkeev won the Dutch sportsman. In the last fight he was defeated by the Mongolian athlete, the press service informs.

A. Zhitkeev was born on April 13, 1981, is the master of sports of the international class in Judo. His first trainer was Sayahat Kudaybergenov. He is trained by Zheksembay Salamatov and Sayan Hamitzhanov.
