Kazakhstan's Economy Grows Nearly 4%

Kazakhstan's economy grew by nearly 4% in the first five months of 2026, according to the government's press service following a meeting on measures to ensure economic growth.

Growth in the manufacturing sector reached 9%. Output in the machinery industry increased by 22.2%. More than 81,000 motor vehicles were produced in the country between January and May. Growth was also driven by the chemical industry, which expanded by 17.8%, and the construction materials sector, which grew by 18.7%. In agriculture, the physical volume index reached 103.6%. Particular attention was given to the fuel and energy sector," the press service said.


Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov stressed the need to intensify efforts to implement investment projects, ensure the timely launch of new production facilities and make effective use of existing growth reserves.

The head of government assigned personal responsibility to the heads of state bodies for achieving the planned physical volume index targets by the end of the first half of the year," the press service added.
