Kazakhstan to Build Its First Sanitary Ware Manufacturing Plant

Kazakhstan is set to establish its first plant for the production and assembly of sanitary ware and bathroom accessories. The project will be implemented by Spanish company Roca Group, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
The project will involve investments of 44.1 billion tenge. Once operational, the facility will be capable of producing up to 500,000 units annually and is expected to create around 300 permanent jobs.
Gabidulla Ospankulov, Chairman of the Investment Committee of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with company representatives to discuss the progress of the project.
During the meeting, Ospankulov outlined the government support measures available to investors, including tax incentives, and highlighted the advantages of doing business in Kazakhstan.
The ministry added that an investment agreement for the project has been signed by the Government of Kazakhstan, the administration of the Kyzylorda Region and Roca Group.

Kazakhstan Approves Wholesale Price Cap for Liquefied Petroleum Gas

Kazakhstan has reaffirmed the maximum wholesale price for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) sold outside commodity exchanges, keeping it unchanged under an order signed by Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov.
According to the document, the maximum wholesale price for LPG supplied to Kazakhstan's domestic market outside commodity exchanges has been set at 59,722 tenge per tonne, excluding value-added tax (VAT). The price will apply under the domestic LPG supply plan for the period from July 1 to December 31, 2026.
The order entered into force on July 1, 2026.

Kazakhstan Aims to Become a Regional Crypto Hub, Central Bank Says

Kazakhstan intends to establish itself as a regional cryptocurrency hub, National Bank Chairman Timur Suleimenov said during a briefing.
According to Suleimenov, the country is already implementing a number of pilot projects in the digital assets sector, including the National Bank's digital regulatory sandbox, which currently hosts 33 projects. At the same time, work has been underway to develop the infrastructure needed for the registration, circulation and oversight of digital assets.
Suleimenov said a presidential decree signed earlier this week would move these initiatives into the implementation phase and provide a unified roadmap for government agencies.
The National Bank governor stressed that Kazakhstan aims to send a clear signal to domestic, regional and global markets about its ambition to become a regional crypto hub. To support that goal, the country plans to introduce the necessary legal and tax incentives to encourage capital to return to Kazakhstan's jurisdiction.

Kazakhstan's Agricultural Exports Rise 36% as Tokayev Reviews Sector Performance

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov, who presented a report on the performance of the country's agro-industrial sector during the first half of 2026.
According to the minister, food production increased by 14.7% during the first six months of the year. The agricultural output index rose by 4.4%, including a 7.7% increase in crop production and a 4.4% rise in livestock production.
Saparov also reported strong growth in agricultural exports. Between January and April, exports of agro-industrial products reached $3 billion, up 36% compared with the same period last year. By the end of 2026, Kazakhstan aims to increase agricultural exports to $7.2 billion.
The minister said work is continuing to raise the share of processed products in the agro-industrial sector to 70%. Measures are also being implemented to diversify crop acreage, expand concessional lending for farmers, and develop agricultural machinery leasing.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture's forecast, by the end of the year gross agricultural output is expected to grow by 5.9%, food production by 9.5%, and beverage production by 10.5%. Investment in fixed capital in the agro-industrial sector is projected to reach 2.2 trillion tenge.
Following the meeting, Tokayev instructed the government to improve the efficiency of the agro-industrial sector, increase the production of higher value-added goods, expand the country's export potential, and strengthen Kazakhstan's food security.

Kazakhstan to Introduce Unified QR Code Payments for Cryptocurrency, Central Bank Says

Kazakhstan plans to introduce cryptocurrency payments through a unified QR code system, National Bank Chairman Timur Suleimenov said during a briefing.
According to Suleimenov, the unified QR payment system for goods and services will be launched on July 18. The platform will integrate not only banks, but also payment organizations and cryptocurrency wallets.
Cryptocurrency payments are already being tested. At present, around 5,000 retail outlets, most of them located in Astana and Almaty, are connected to the pilot system.
Suleimenov said Alatau City Bank is currently the only bank supporting cryptocurrency payments under the project, while other banks are preparing to join. Once the unified QR system is launched, all participating institutions will operate within a single payment infrastructure.

Kazakhstan Plans to Revise Gas Consumption and Metering Rules

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy has submitted for public discussion a draft order proposing amendments to the rules governing the retail sale and use of commercial and liquefied petroleum gas.
The document предусматривает the introduction of a standard for prudent gas consumption for household consumers. If the установленный объем is exceeded, a higher coefficient is proposed to be applied in calculating payments.
The draft also proposes improving the procedure for submitting meter readings, introducing estimated billing in cases where readings are not provided, defining a mechanism for recalculation after actual readings are taken, and establishing a phased transition to smart metering devices with remote data transmission.
In addition, it is planned to clarify the procedure for settlements in cases of meter malfunction or expiration of verification periods, as well as the grounds for gas supply disconnection.
The Ministry of Energy stated that the proposed changes are aimed at improving state regulation in the gas supply sector, enhancing the accuracy of consumption metering, developing digital services, and encouraging more efficient use of gas.
Public discussion of the draft will run until July 21, 2026.
