Foreign Ministry confirms death of Kazakh citizen in Thailand
Astana. 1 February. Kazakhstan Today - Consulate of Kazakhstan in Pattaya confirmed death of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the hotel of Pattaya. Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan Anuar Zhaynakov.
"On the night of February 1, 2017 in the city of Pattaya body of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan was found in a hotel with no signs of violent death" said Zhaynakov.
According to Foreign Ministry, local law enforcement carry out investigative measures, the body was sent for forensic examination. Kazakhstan Embassy in Thailand has informed the relatives of the deceased. Man arrived in Thailand with his law-wife on 20 January 2017 and was due to return to Kazakhstan on 2 February.
As it was reported earlier, Kazakh tourist's body was found by the staff of the hotel. The incident was reported to the police on January 31 about 11:30 pm. Lieutenant Pattanan Somnyan from Pattaya Police Station reported that the body was taken to the police hospital at the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy. Police also plans to interview the girlfriend of the deceased to establish the circumstances of his death.

Ventilation Duct Collapses Near People at Almaty Airport
An incident involving a ventilation structure occurred during installation work at Almaty International Airport, an agency correspondent reports.
A video from the scene was published on Telegram by journalist Mikhail Kozachkov.
The airport's press service said that a partial separation of a ventilation component - a flexible ventilation duct - occurred while engineering systems were being installed and the duct was being lowered below ceiling level.
According to the airport, the duct had been secured in advance and was being gradually lowered to the required position for final fastening. However, during the process, the structure separated at a joint and remained suspended by safety cables.

Child Suffers Electric Shock from Power Line Pole Near Playground in Karaganda Region

A 10-year-old boy suffered severe electrical injuries after being electrocuted and falling from a height in the village of Dolinka in Kazakhstan's Karaganda Region. The child is currently in intensive care at the regional children's hospital, local media outlet ekaraganda.kz reported.
According to the victim's sister, who described the incident on social media, the accident occurred on June 1. She said the boy climbed a metal support structure of a 6,000-volt power transmission line located near a children's playground. After receiving an electric shock, he fell from the structure.

A fire broke out on the grounds of Almaty Zoo during the night of June 9.

Part of the facade cladding of an apartment building collapsed on Gogol Street in Almaty, local authorities reported. According to footage circulating on social media, the debris fell onto the canopy covering the outdoor seating area of a coffee shop.

Three people were killed and two others injured after a vehicle driven by an intoxicated driver struck pedestrians in the city of Arys.
