Slavik militant named prime suspect in Moscow airport bombing
Almaty. January 27. Kazakhstan Today - A slavik militant has been named prime suspect in Moscow airport bombing that claimed 35 lives, the agency reports.
An ethnic Russian, allegedly belonging to an extremist group, has been named by police as the prime suspect behind the suicide attack at Moscow's international airport, The NewAge reports.
An ethnic Russian member of a North Caucasus militant group Thursday emerged as the first suspect in the suicide strike on Russia's main airport as a new bombing rocked the overwhelmingly Muslim region.
The suspect, whose surname was revealed by police as Razdobudko, is allegedly a member of the Nogai Jamaat terrorist group disbanded in October 2010, according to 'Kommersant' Daily.
Police say Razdobudko a resident of the Stavropol territory in south Russia bordering the volatile Caucasus region could be one of the organisers or even a perpetrator of Monday's attack at Domodedovo airport.
"He is by no means the only person being investigated for taking part in the terrorist attack, so we should not jump to any conclusions," a source close to the investigation was as quoted as saying by the daily.
The source said DNA and other tests were still being carried out to establish the identity of the suicide bomber.
BBC reports the suspect is being linked to a 31 December explosion at a house in the centre of Moscow in which a woman died. The woman who died in Moscow on New Year's Eve was found with the remains of a suicide belt, according to reports, and she was said to have been married to a militant from the group who was arrested last year.
