Up to KZT 210 Million Allocated for Bibisara Assaubayeva's Training - Sports Ministry

Up to KZT 210 million has been allocated for the training and preparation of Kazakh chess player Bibisara Assaubayeva, including funding provided by sports federations and other organizations, Kazakhstan's Ministry of Tourism and Sports said.

According to Sputnik Kazakhstan, the ministry stated that Assaubayeva's funding request had been reviewed and approved, after which she was granted the standard level of financial support provided for athletes preparing for international competitions.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports noted that, in its assessment, the allocated funding is sufficient to ensure the athlete's participation in high-level tournaments.

The ministry also said that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed a decree awarding Assaubayeva the Order of Barys, Second Class, although the decoration has not yet been formally presented.

Earlier, Assaubayeva released a video address to President Tokayev in which she claimed that funding for her training had been reduced and highlighted difficulties in covering the costs of coaches and other specialists involved in her preparation.
