Kazakhstani Government bans petrochemicals export for 6 months

Ban imposed in order to prevent a critical lack and rising prices of oil products in the domestic market, according to the decree, published today in the official media.

Astana. August 16. Kazakhstan Today - The Government of Kazakhstan by the decree dated June 29, 2012 №886 imposed a temporary ban on the export of light oils, kerosene, gas oil and other oil products, Kazakhstan Today reports.

Ban imposed in order to prevent a critical lack and rising prices of oil products in the domestic market, according to the decree, published today in the official media.

"To introduce a six-month ban on the export of light oils (HS code 2710 12 TC), kerosene (HS code 2710 19 TC 210 0 - 2710 19 250 0), gas oil (HS code 2710 19 TC 420 0 - 2710 19 480 0, 2710 20 110 0 - 2710 20 190 0) and other petroleum products (HS Code 2710 TS 20 900 0), except special gasoline (HS Code 2710 TS 12210 0 - 2710 12250 0) and heating household oil", document says.

According to the decree, the Customs Control Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan has the established procedure to ensure control over the execution of this decree.

Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan instructed in the prescribed manner to inform the Eurasian Economic Commission about introduction of the ban; to submit proposals to the Eurasian Economic Commission for the application of measures set out in the decree in other states - participants of the Customs Union.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan to notify the Secretariat of the Integration Committee of the Eurasian Economic Community, the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Government's measures to regulate foreign trade within fourteen calendar days from the official publication of the decree.

This Decree is entered into force on 1 July 2012.
