National currencies for trade settlements between SCO states to be considered in Almaty

The question of use of national currencies for trade settlements between the SCO countries will be considered by the end of the year in Almaty at the meeting of Ministers of Finance and chairmen of Central Banks, the agency reports citing the prime minister's press service.

Kazakhstan Today - The question of use of national currencies for trade settlements between the SCO countries will be considered by the end of the year in Almaty at the meeting of Ministers of Finance and chairmen of Central Banks, the agency reports citing the prime minister's press service.

According to the press service, "the SCO prime ministers made the decision in Beijing during the session of the Council of SCO Prime Ministers by the initiative of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, on carrying out of the meeting of Ministers of Finance and chairmen of Central Banks in Almaty by the end of 2009 concerning the joint reform of the world financial system, taking into account the decisions of G20 summit and counteraction the world crisis.

"The session participants will discuss the question of use of national currencies in trade settlements between the SCO countries."
