Possible collapse of banking sector has been prevented in Kazakhstan. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, informed at the extraordinary XII congress of the People's Democratic Party Nur Otan, the agency reports.

Astana. May 15. Kazakhstan Today - Possible collapse of banking sector has been prevented in Kazakhstan. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, informed at the extraordinary XII congress of the People's Democratic Party Nur Otan, the agency reports.

"Solving, on behalf of our President, essential development problems in the crisis conditions with participation of the banks of the second level, we have prevented possible collapse of banking sector," K. Masimov stated.

"About 1.5 thousand equity holders received apartments during the first months of realization of the program. Construction of 142 more objects is planned to be finished up to the end of 2009 in Astana and Almaty. More than 25 thousand equity holders will receive new apartments," he informed.

"120 billion KZT has been transferred for refinancing of the earlier loaned hypothecary credits to the banks. As of today, refinancing applications for the sum of 77 billion KZT have been already approved. 14 111 borrowers have already refinanced their debts," the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan informed.
