Estonian cyclists kidnapped in Lebanese valley
Almaty. March 24. Kazakhstan Today - Seven Estonians riding bicycles have been kidnapped by masked gunmen in the Bekaa valley, Kazakhstan Today reports.
Security sources in Lebanon say seven Estonians riding bicycles in the Bekaa valley have been kidnapped by masked gunmen, Radio New Zealand reported.
The exact circumstances of the kidnapping, in an eastern industrial zone, remain unclear.
The cyclists had apparently crossed into Lebanon from Syria.
Estonian consul Sami Kamouh said security forces had recovered their identity papers and mobile phones that were left at the scene.
The army has confirmed seven Europeans are missing.
