Almaty. June 16. Kazakhstan Today - The Red Cross informed that hundreds of people have been killed in collisions in Kyrgyzstan since last Thursday, the agency reports citing Vesti.Ru.

The International Committee of the Red Cross informed that there is no exact data of victims, but the press secretary of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Christian Cardon, informed that "it is a question of hundreds of people." Meanwhile, mass media inform of about 176 killed.

As informed earlier, the president of the transition period of Kyrgyzstan, Roza Otunbaeva, informed at the press conference in Bishkek that nobody can tell the exact number of victims of the mass riots in the south of Kyrgyzstan.

"Real death toll in the south of Kyrgyzstan is not known," R. Otunbaeva said.

As informed earlier, ethnic clashes happened in the south of Kyrgyzstan between Kyrgyz and Uzbeks on the night of June 10-11. Emergency state was introduced in the Dzhalal-Abad and Osh areas; however, the authorities have not been able to regain control over the situation. Death toll, according to all available data, has reached 117 people. According to eyewitnesses, the quantity of victims has significantly exceeded the official data.
