CSTO antiterrorist exercises began in Tajikistan

The CSTO joint command-staff antiterrorist exercises Rubezh-2010 (Frontier-2010) of the Collective Rapid Response Forces of the Central-Asian region began today in Tajikistan on the military range Choruh-Dayron in 300 kilometres to the north from Dushanbe, the agency reports citing ITAR-TASS.

Kazakhstan Today - The CSTO joint command-staff antiterrorist exercises Rubezh-2010 (Frontier-2010) of the Collective Rapid Response Forces of the Central-Asian region began today in Tajikistan on the military range Choruh-Dayron in 300 kilometres to the north from Dushanbe, the agency reports citing ITAR-TASS.

The military divisions and operative groups of four CSTO countries are taking part in the exercises - Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. One more CSTO participant - Uzbekistan - sent a group of observers.

The press secretary of the Commander-in-Chief of the Land Forces of the Russian Federation, Colonel Oleg Yushkov, informed that preparation and carrying out of the joint counterterrorism operation in the territory of Tajikistan is the goal of Rubezh-2010 exercises.
