Five CIS countries signed declaration on common approaches to development strategy of railways in international communication

Almaty. July 28. Kazakhstan Today - The chairmen of railways of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan signed joint declaration on common approaches to development strategy of railways in international communication in Bishkek last week, following the results of the session, the agency reports referring to the press service of JSC Company National Company Kazakhstan temir zholy.

According to the press service, the chairmen of railways discussed opening prospects of increase of volumes of transportations of passengers and cargoes in international communication, the work being done on development of a network of the main lines and the questions of re-structuring of the industry.

According to Kazakhstan temir zholy press service, the joint declaration signed by the participants of the session, provides coordination of the actions on development and technical equipment of the international railway boundary to increase their throughput, the necessity of development along with boundary, customs, quarantine and other control bodies of the countries of uniform procedure of border control.

The chairman of Kazakhstan temir zholy, Askar Mamin, held negotiations with the chairman of Russian railways, Vladimir Yakunin, concerning bilateral cooperation. The chairmen of railways of Kazakhstan and Russia approved the joint plan of measures on realization of the memorandum of cooperation between Russian railways and JSC Company National Company Kazakhstan temir zholy of June 2, 2008 and the agreement on intention on creation of program-controlled technological complex Control transportation center of JSC Company National Company Kazakhstan temir zholy and introduction of modern systems of automation of transportation process.

During the meeting the arrangement on carrying out on August 26-27, 2008 in Moscow the next session of bilateral Russian-Kazakhstan working group on improvement of functioning of railway boundary communication and carrying out on November 27-28, 2008 in Astana the international forum on further development of the railway administrations has been reached.
