Foreign Minister to take part in meeting of 'five' Ministers for Foreign Affairs of OSCE member countries

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Marat Tazhin will take part in the meeting of 'five' of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of OSCE member countries. The official representative of Kazakhstan foreign policy department Yerzhan Ashikbayev informed at the briefing today, the agency reports.

Astana. May 26. Kazakhstan Today - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Marat Tazhin will take part in the meeting of 'five' of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of OSCE member countries. The official representative of Kazakhstan foreign policy department Yerzhan Ashikbayev informed at the briefing today, the agency reports.

"The meeting of quintet of the Ministers for Foreign Affairs of OSCE countries - chairmen will be held in Helsinki on June 1-2 with participation of Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Marat Tazhin," Y. Ashikbayev said.

"After Madrid meeting of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of OSCE member countries the organization defined countries-chairmen until 2011." "In this connection, the current chairman - the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland has initiated carrying out of the meeting of Foreign Ministers of five future OSCE chairmen including the present three members - Spain, Finland, Greece, and Kazakhstan and Lithuania," the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan explained. He noted that the purpose of the meeting is defining of uniform approaches in solution of urgent issues of OSCE agenda and preservation of continuity of priorities of future chairmanships."

"The session agenda of quintet of OSCE countries - chairmen will include vital questions of OSCE activity, Afghanistan problems, struggle against terrorism, questions of tolerance and non-discrimination," Y. Ashikbayev informed.
