RK MFA took part in meeting of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of Alliance of Civilizations Group of Friends in New York

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Marat Tazhin, took part in the meeting of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the Alliance of Civilizations Group of Friends in New York, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

Astana. September 25. Kazakhstan Today - The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Marat Tazhin, took part in the meeting of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the Alliance of Civilizations Group of Friends in New York, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

According to the press service, the delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan headed by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Marat Tazhin, continues its work within the limits of the 63rd session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

On Wednesday, September 24, Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan made a report at the meeting of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the Alliance of Civilizations Group of Friends, held in the UN headquarters.

The international conference of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the Asian, African and European countries - Common World: Progress through Diversity will take place on October 17 in Astana, the main purpose of which is establishment and strengthening of positive interaction between the Muslim and Western world.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Slovakia, Yan Kubish, and the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, highly estimated the initiative of Kazakhstan.

M. Tazhin reminded that at the initiative of Kazakhstan 2010 is proclaimed by the United Nations - International Year of the Rapproachement of Cultures. Kazakhstan plans to hold international forum with participation of representatives of clergy, political, scientific, and cultural circles.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan emphasized that as the future chairman in OSCE in 2010 and in Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of Islamic Conference member countries in 2011 Kazakhstan plans to promote the dialogue between cultures and religions, strengthening of tolerance and continuation of efforts of the countries-members on struggle against all forms of discrimination in these two largest regional organizations.

The same day M. Tazhin held a bilateral meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Ali Babadzhan, and met members of National Committee on American Foreign Policy.

During the meeting with Turkish Minister the parties discussed a broad range of questions of bilateral cooperation, their perspective directions, and actual aspects of modern international relations.

The Kazakhstan Minister invited A. Babadzhan to visit Kazakhstan and to take part in the work of the Ministerial Conference of the Muslim and Western countries - Common World: Progress through Diversity.

As it was informed earlier, the delegation of Kazakhstan headed by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan M. Tazhin are taking part in the annual general debate of the 63rd session of the UN General Assembly on September 23 - October 1.
