Turkmenistan President suggested Romanian partners to take part in reconstruction of seaport in Turkmenbashi

The President of Kazakhstan, Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, during the official visit on July 16-17 to Bucharest suggested the Romanian partners to take part in reconstruction of the seaport in Turkmenbashi, the agency reports referring to Turkmen state news agency.

Almaty. July 18. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, during the official visit on July 16-17 to Bucharest suggested the Romanian partners to take part in reconstruction of the seaport in Turkmenbashi, the agency reports referring to Turkmen state news agency.

According to the press service, Berdymuhamedov suggested the Romanian partners to take part in construction of railway and highways, reconstruction of the seaport in the city of Turkmenbashi and deliveries of equipment.

During the visit the President of Turkmenistan offered the Romanian companies, having working experience in oil-and-gas industry, to consider a possibility of participation in specific power projects - development of hydrocarbon deposits on the shelves of the Caspian Sea, construction of pipelines, creation and modernization of enterprises of processing industry, and deliveries of modern equipment for fuel and energy complex of Turkmenistan.

The President of Romania, Trayan Besesku, stated intention of cooperation of the Romanian companies in hydrocarbonic industry.

Having chosen among a number of priority directions of partnership fuel and energy sector, T. Besesku noted that during negotiations questions of realization of the European project Nabucco in gas sphere have been touched upon.

Following the results of the negotiations, the leaders of both states signed a number of documents.

The Convention between the governments of Turkmenistan and Romania on elimination of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion on income and capital, the Agreement between the governments of both states on economic and scientific and technical cooperation, the protocol between the governments of Turkmenistan and Romania to the Agreement on encouragement and mutual protection of investments signed in Bucharest on November 16, 1994.

The leaders of both states signed the program of cooperation between the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Public Education, Sciences and Youth of Romania in the field of education for 2008 - 2012, and the protocol on cooperation between the Ministries for Foreign Affairs of two countries.

Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov has visited Bucharest for the second time. The President took part in NATO summit in the beginning of April in Bucharest.

According to Turkmen information agency, for the last year commodity turnover between Turkmenistan and Romania has grown three times.
