UN Population Fund to promote relations with Kazakhstan

Almaty. October 31. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan has achieved good results in healthcare development, Babatunde Osotimehin, the Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund, said Tuesday at a meeting held at the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.

According to Caspionet, the foreign expert said that the quality of medical services is also on a high level. Maternal mortality and the incidence of HIV and AIDS have been reducing in recent years in Kazakhstan which is also considered to be a positive fact.

Babatunde Osotimehin, the Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund, said that he came to Kazakhstan to develop diplomatic relations between the UN Population Fund and the country, which has achieved impressive economic growth in a short time. The UN official also noted that Kazakhstan should be regarded as a country, which will provide support to neighboring countries in the region.
