UN ready to assist in solution of water resources problems
Almaty. April 28. Kazakhstan Today - The United Nations is ready to assist in solution of water resources and power problems of the countries of the Aral Sea basin. The address of Ban Ki-moon read to the participants of the summit of the leaders of the states - founders of Aral Sea Rescue Fund (IASR) today during the summit by the chairman of UN regional center for preventive diplomacy for Central Asia, Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General, Miroslav Encha, states, the agency reports.
"My Special Representative for Central Asia and the regional center for preventive diplomacy is ready to help you in finding of the long-term solution of the interconnected issues of water resources and energy in the Aral Sea region and to offer the intermediary services during any future negotiations in this area," Ban Ki-moon stated.
"In case of the need, special UN establishments are also ready to assist and provide all the necessary technical knowledge and experience."
