392 kilometres of the southern border of Kazakhstan will be equipped with wire entanglement in 2010. Frontier guards informed First Vice Premier of Kazakhstan, Umirzak Shukeev, who arrived at the Kazakhstan-Uzbek border on Tuesday, the agency reports.

Shymkent. February 11. Kazakhstan Today - 392 kilometres of the southern border of Kazakhstan will be equipped with wire entanglement in 2010. Frontier guards informed First Vice Premier of Kazakhstan, Umirzak Shukeev, who arrived at the Kazakhstan-Uzbek border on Tuesday, the agency reports.

According to the press service of the Committee of National Security (KNB) of Kazakhstan, it is planned to strengthen wire entanglements with signalling complexes that will allow increasing efficiency of protection of 430 kilometres of the frontier. Besides, the group of small boats on the river Syr-Darya is planned to be increased in 2010.

According to KNB, plain areas and mountain passes are planned to be equipped with wire entanglements in 2010 - 2012, in addition in Korday direction we will deploy boundary troops, construct more than 20 frontier posts in the southern boundaries, and will re-equip more than 40 available frontier posts.
