House of Representatives of Belarus ratified CRRF CSTO agreement

The deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus at the fourth session of Parliament ratified the agreement on Collective Rapid Response Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the agency reports citing Belarus cable agency BELTA.

Almaty. May 26. Kazakhstan Today - The deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus at the fourth session of Parliament ratified the agreement on Collective Rapid Response Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the agency reports citing Belarus cable agency BELTA.

According to the Minister of Defense of Belarus, Yury Zhadobin, CRRF was created for operative response to the challenges and threats to security of the CSTO member states. Among their primary goals - participation in prevention and repulse of armed attacks, including aggression, localization of confrontations, struggle against international terrorism, drug trafficking, illegal circulation of weapons and ammunition, and other kinds of transnational organized crime. They also participate in protection of population against the dangers arising from military operations, liquidation of emergencies, rendering extreme humanitarian help, strengthening of the state borders, and protection of the state and military facilities.

The minister reminded that Belarus signed the CRRF CSTO agreement on October 15, 2009. The Parliament of Kazakhstan ratified this international document.
