Kazakhstan President took part in informal summit of CIS heads of states

The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, took part in the informal summit of the heads of the CIS states on Saturday, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

"The President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, the President of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, the President of Belorussia, Alexander Lukashenko, acting president of the Republic of Moldova, Mihay Gimpu, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, the President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdymuhammedov, the President of Ukraine, Victor Yanukovych, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirzieev took part in the meeting," the press service informed.

"The summit participants discussed a wide range of questions of multilateral cooperation."

D. Medvedev thanked the leaders of the CIS countries for their arrival in Moscow "to celebrate the 65th anniversary victory over fascism."

The President of the Russian Federation suggested talking about the other CIS priorities. "The priority for this year is development of scientific cooperation, joint activity in the field of high technologies", D. Medvedev said. In his opinion, humanitarian cooperation is very important. The President of the Russian Federation also informed that the 5th Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the CIS member states will be held in the autumn in Moscow.
