Madrid. December 3. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan will head OSCE in 2010. It became known, following the results of the 15th session of the Council of Foreign Affairs of OSCE member states in Madrid, the agency reports.

Today the consensus of the ministers of foreign policy departments of OSCE member states has been reached. Finland will be the chairman in 2009, Greece - in 2008, Kazakhstan will head the organization in 2010 and in 2011 - Lithuania.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Marat Tazhin stated during the closing ceremony of the 15th session of the Council of Foreign Affairs of OSCE member countries that Kazakhstan was refused presidency in OSCE in 2009 without any serious and objective reasons.

"2009 was important for us taking into account fast democratic changes in my country. We do not see serious, objective reasons, which could be the basis for refusal because there was one candidature and it received support of the overwhelming majority of the OSCE member states," M. Tazhin stated. The minister of the foreign policy department expressed gratitude to the countries that supported application of Kazakhstan for the OSCE presidency.
