Moscow hosts EurAsEC Interstate Council session

Moscow hosts the session of Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) at the level of prime ministers, the agency reports citing Russian mass media.

Moscow. December 12. Kazakhstan Today - Moscow hosts the session of Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) at the level of prime ministers, the agency reports citing Russian mass media.

As informed earlier, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, arrived in Moscow on December, 11th to participate in the summit. Yesterday K. Masimov and the President of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, discussed the questions of development of bilateral economic cooperation, including with EurAsEC.

K. Masimov and Vladimir Putin will discuss a broad range of questions of cooperation of two countries in trade and economic areas.

The Prime Ministers of EurAsEC member states will consider the measures for overcoming the influence of the world financial crisis, developed yesterday during the joint session of EurAsEC Council for Financial and Economic Policy and the Council of chairmen of Central Banks.

One of the themes at the session will be suspension of Uzbekistan membership in EurAsEC.

The members of Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community are five states - Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. In May, 2002, Moldova and Ukraine received the status of observer of EurAsEC and Armenia received the observer status in 2003.
