Nazarbayev requested Russia to improve reliability of KazSat-2

The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, during the meeting with the Prime Minister of Russia, Vladimir Putin, on Thursday requested the Russian party to improve reliability of KazSat-2, the agency reports citing the official website of the Russian government.

Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, during the meeting with the Prime Minister of Russia, Vladimir Putin, on Thursday requested the Russian party to improve reliability of KazSat-2, the agency reports citing the official website of the Russian government.

"In space, we continue to work over KazSat-2. But you know what happened with the first satellite KazSat-1, so, I have a request to improve the satellite. It is very important for us," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

V. Putin said that cooperation in space industry has become traditional for two countries. "I hope that this will be beneficial not only for the space industry of the Russian Federation, but will also serve for development of Kazakhstan's space industry. Kazakhstan has all the prerequisites for this and not only Baikonur, but also the intellectual background, a good start," the Russian Prime Minister said.

He also stressed that Russia and Kazakhstan have many other avenues for cooperation in the energy sector and in engineering. "And energy - is not only hydrocarbons, but also electricity and nuclear power. In general, we have joint projects or prospects of cooperation in all areas," V. Putin said.
