Six people have applied for the president's post of Kyrgyzstan: the current head of the Republic, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, the leader of Muslim Group Zhoomart, Nurlan Motuev, the representative of opposition, Almazbek Atambaev, a well-known doctor, an expert in narcology, Zhenishbek Nazaraliev, the chairman of the party Akshumkar, Temir Sariev, and chairman of NGO and NCO of Kyrgyzstan, Toktoyym Umetalieva.

According to the chairman of the Central Election Commission, Damir Lissovsky, 53 regional and 2330 local election committees have been created in Kyrgyzstan. According to preliminary data, more than 2.7 million Kyrgyzstan citizens will take part in the elections.
