Social situation in Kazakhstan is stable.

Astana. February 14. Kazakhstan Today - Social situation in Kazakhstan is stable. The Prime Minister Karim Masimov said today at the expanded government session in Astana, the agency reports.

"Actual growth of wages and monetary income of the population for 2007 made more than 17 %, size of living wage has increased by 11.2 % and totaled 8.861 KZT.

He reminded that average size of pension, without taking into account base payment of 3 thousand KZT, totaled almost 11 thousand KZT and increased by 9.5 %, average size of social benefits have also grown. "The measures of social support of the population have been undertaken in connection with increase of prices for basic food stuffs and tariffs for municipal services, at the regional level since November, 2007 additional payments for socially disadvantaged categories of citizens have been made. 503.8 thousand people received this help for total sum of more than 1.5 billion KZT," the Prime Minister emphasized.

He reminded the special law was adopted directed at social support of the citizens, working in harmful and under trying conditions. "The work on systematic reforming of social sphere will be continued in 2008," the Prime Minister concluded.
