Strengthening of safety on Euro Atlantic space - one of priorities issues of OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers - Lavrov

The participants of the forthcoming Ministerial Council of Foreign Affairs of the Organizations of Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) discussed the questions of strengthening of safety on the Euro Atlantic space in Helsinki. The Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, informed after the meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Marat Tazhin, on Thursday, the agency reports.

Kazakhstan Today - The participants of the forthcoming Ministerial Council of Foreign Affairs of the Organizations of Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) discussed the questions of strengthening of safety on the Euro Atlantic space in Helsinki. The Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, informed after the meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Marat Tazhin, on Thursday, the agency reports.

"We consider that European security is in trouble in the context of overcoming of consequences of the Caucasian crisis. Therefore, the questions of strengthening of security on Euro Atlantic space will be one of the priority issues at the forthcoming Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of this organization in Helsinki in early December, 2008," S. Lavrov said.

"CSTO consultations on development of the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation, Medvedev, on preparation of the new contract that would provide principles of safety in Euro Atlantic and mechanisms of realization of these principles."
