General assembly of carrier rocket Soyuz-U intended for launch of Progress М-61 began

Baikonur. July 31. Kazakhstan Today - General assembly of a carrier rocket Soyuz-U intended for launch of transport cargo ship Progress М-61 began at the cosmodrome Baikonur, the Federal Space Center Baikonur press service informed the agency.

According to the press service, the experts of the cosmodrome began general assembly of the carrier rocket Soyuz-U intended for launch of Progress М-61 in assembly-test case of platform №112 on Monday.

After completion of general assembly of the carrier rocket Soyuz-U, the session of the state commission will take place to consider continuation of pre-starting preparation and delivery of the carrier rocket to the starting complex of platform №1. According to the schedule, delivery of the carrier rocket Soyuz-U has been planned for today, July 31.

The transport ship Progress М-61 should deliver equipment to onboard computers of the station and the basic cargo: foodstuffs, scientific equipment and fuel to the International Space Station. The launch of the carrier rocket Soyuz-U with the transport cargo ship Progress М-61 from platform №1 of the cosmodrome has been planned for August 2 at 23.32 p.m. Astana time (21.32 p.m. Moscow time).
