Minsk to host 9th session of CIS member states Commission on atomic energy use for peaceful purposes

Minsk. June 25. Kazakhstan Today - Minsk will host the 9th session of CIS member states Commission on atomic energy use for peaceful purposes on June 25 - 26, 2007, the CIS Executive Committee press service informed the agency.

The representatives of Belarus, the CIS Executive Committee, and the Chairman of the Commission are expected to make speeches at the opening session. On the first day of the meeting the participants will discuss the condition and prospects of development of atomic engineering in the states. The reports of the representatives of Azerbaijan - Prospects of Development of Atomic Engineering in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia - Perspectives of Nuclear Power in Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan - Cooperation of Republic Tajikistan and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in the field of maintenance of radiating safety of the population and environment, Russia, and the Ukraine.

The participants are expected to analyze the activity of the working groups of the Commission, will discuss the problem of upkeep of knowledge in the field of nuclear power and other questions.
