Mittal Steel to pay 500-900 thousand KZT

Karaganda. October 13. Kazakhstan Today - "Mittal Steel Temirtau" will pay from 500 up to 900 thousand KZT to victims of Karaganda mine explosion, the Director on the Economy of Coal Department of Mittal Steel Temirtau company Vasily Telnoy informed today at the press conference in Karaganda.

"The company made a decision to pay to families of victims annual salary as indemnification of moral harm from 500 up to 900 thousand KZT. Each family will receive money next week," V. Telnoy said.

According to him, five victims are still in hospitals. "It is possible that someone of these people will not recover completely and will probably receive physical inability I or II groups. Five annual salaries are to be paid to them at once," he noted. "This money will be taken from company's resources," he explained.

As it was informed earlier, as a result of the explosion on September 20 41 people died, 12 more received injures of various degree of weight. Three victims were brought to the company hospital, four were taken to the clinic named after Makazhanov, two people were taken to the medical diagnostic department and three miners were taken to the central hospital in Shahtinsk.
