Russian party to compensate damage to Kazakhstan caused by rocket crash

Astana. July 31. Kazakhstan Today - In case of damage acknowledgment in connection with carrier rocket Dnepr crash, the Russian party undertakes to compensate the harm caused to Kazakhstan, MFA press secretary Ilyas Omarov informed today at the briefing in Astana.

"The Russian party informed that it is taking all measures on finding-out the crash reasons, search for emergency equipment, and liquidation of possible consequences of the crash in the view of the Agreement stipulations in case of rockets' launches failures from cosmodrome Baikonur dated from November 18, 1999," I. Omarov told.

As it was informed earlier, on July, 27 at 1.43 a.m. PC- 20 with the group of space satellites carrier rocket Dnepr launched from cosmodrome Baikonur crashed in 189. 6 km from the launch spot. The government decree created the commission to examine the consequences of the rocket crash. Vice Minister of Education and Science Azamat Abdymomunov has been appointed the Commission Chairman.

According to the Emergency Ministry, concentration of harmful substances in the accident area exceeds maximum permissible level by one thousand times.
